02/06/10 - Structural Waterproofing Course from the PCA

The Property Care Association is holding a course in Structural Waterproofing at its training centre in Huntingdon.

The three-day course, to be held from the 15 – 17 June, will cover: Basic Principles of Structural Waterproofing; Principles and Application of Cementitious and Cavity Drain Systems; and Legal and Health and Safety Issues. Candidates can choose to attend for the full three days, or select individual days if preferred.

Aimed at those involved in waterproofing of underground structures, the course provides comprehensive training towards the Certificated Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW) examination and is available to both members and non-members of the PCA.  Chief Lecturer is Phil Hewitt, a leading UK consultant and expert witness in the area of structural waterproofing

Noted for its technical expertise, the PCA – a trade body representing the UK’s damp control, timber preservation, structural waterproofing, structural repair and flood recovery sectors – is a major education provider for the property care industry.

To book online, log onto the PCA website at http://www.property-care.org, where there is more information about this course and other training provided by the PCA. Alternatively phone the PCA on 0844 375 4301.

Notes To Editors

Noted for its training and technical expertise, The Property Care Association (PCA) represents the UK’s damp control, timber preservation, structural waterproofing, structural repair and flood recovery sectors.

It incorporates the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association (BWPDA), which has been in formation for more than 75 years.

The PCA is a member of TrustMark the scheme supported by the Government, to help property owners find reliable and trustworthy tradespeople to make home improvements.

Its contractor members are all carefully vetted before being awarded membership - and are then subject to rigorous auditing procedures once admitted to the Association.

As well as delivering a trusted repair procedure, PCA members are able to carry out specialist surveys as part of the house-buying procedure  to identify potential problems – as well as a range of other services  designed to preserve and protect homes and buildings across the UK.

To find a PCA member log on to http://www.property-care.org and select the ‘Find A Member’ service.
