27/07/10 - Flowcrete Floored By Awards’ Tally

Leading flooring manufacturer Flowcrete has won a major industry award for its green approach.

 

The South Cheshire based firm scooped the resin flooring title at the Contract Flooring Journal’s Flooring Industry awards.

 

Judges gave the accolade for the company’s innovative resin flooring, which has a range of sustainable features – including the ability to be delivered in bulk to site in recyclable containers.

 

The company also uses recycled glass and mirrors in some Flowcrete floors such as the seamless terrazzo Mondéco, which can reduce the need for artificial strip and spotlighting by creating inbuilt light reflective properties.

 

Mark Greaves, managing director of Flowcrete, which is based in Sandbach, said: “We are proud to be recognised as a leading advocate of environmentally friendly practices within the global flooring industry.

 

“This means not only a commitment to providing innovative and sustainable flooring solutions, but also to using our planet’s resources responsibly throughout our manufacturing process."

 

This award is the latest success for Flowcrete. Earlier this year, the company won one of Cheshire’s most prestigious awards for business performance, the High Sheriff’s Award for Enterprise, from the University of Chester;

 

Flowcrete achieved the accolade through ambition, innovation, strategic business growth and development of it’s employees’ and management team.

 

The first prize included a place for a member of staff to attend the University of Chester’s Masters of Business Administration (MBA) programme in September 2010. Anthony Harrison, system adminstrator was chosen for the two year intensive MBA course.
