Jane founded Shepherd PR Limited in 2002. She trained
as a journalist and has worked for a national press agency, magazines
and regional daily papers. Jane also holds the Chartered Institute
of Marketing qualifications, which enables her to bring a combined
journalistic and marketer's approach to PR strategy and delivery.
Successes include leading Dawn Gibbins MBE, chairman
of Flowcrete Group plc, to take the title of the Veuve Clicquot Business
Woman of the Year title in 2003. Jane has also written a 200-page
book for Seddon, one of the UK's largest, family-owned construction
companies.
Jane completed a postgraduate certificate in newspaper
journalism in the early 1990s at Sheffield College and has a degree
in English and History from the University of Keele, as well as an
HNC in Media.
Serving in the Royal Air Force, Jane has completed
officer training at RAF College Cranwell and was a member of the media
operations unit, 7644 Squadron. This role - producing radio, print
and television reports, as well as delivering media training and PR
support - has taken her to Canada, the Gulf and Poland. She was part
of the Press Information Centre working in the early weeks of Saif
Surea in Oman, as well as a regular trainer in media handling and
press conference techniques for senior officers.
Jane has also completed media training for Government
agencies and held advisory consultancy roles in crisis management.
